In the north of Cauca department, Fondo Paez is the largest indigeneous coffee producers group in Colombia. The cooparative was born in 1992 with the goal of revive the traditional indigeneous culture after years of opression. After exporting its coffee through the FNC from 2000 to 2012, Fondo Paez is now working with ExpoCosurca, a local exporter in Timbio (south of Cauca), that is supporting local coffee comunities. The quality control is directly run by the cooperative that apply a price differential to its members according to the physical quality of the delivered coffee. This method is influenced by the FNC practices around the country.
